Kickert School Bus Company is nestled in the small Chicago south suburban community of Lynwood, Illinois. Kickert is ideally located to serve the transportation needs as well as charter service needs for the south suburbs as well as for Northwest Indiana. In 2005, Kickert School Bus Company celebrated its 90th anniversary. Founded in 1915 by Richard Kickert, Kickert School Bus Company has survived the economic effects of two world wars and the Depression to become one of the flagship companies of parent company Cook-Illinois Corporation.

Born out of the founder’s simple need to get his children to school, this school bus company has done more than survive these many years. By continuing to meet and exceed its customers’ expectations, Kickert School Bus Company has flourished and become one of the country’s oldest school bus companies.

The oats and hay that fueled the horses has evolved into gasoline, then propane, and finally to bio-diesel fuel. The blacksmith has become foreman overseeing a maintenance facility complete with six full-service bays, in-ground fuel storage, and a fleet of over 250 buses.
