Our newest facility in Mount Prospect was in full operation with the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year. Grand Prairie Transit is located at 1600 James Drive in Mt. Prospect. We currently operate 65 buses from this location. All maintenance is done from our sister company at 1910 Busse in Mount Prospect. Between the two locations we have sufficient staff and mechanics to properly manage and maintain all required needs of our customers.
Grand Prairie Transit has existed in corporate form since 1953. Since 1984 Grand Prairie Transit Bus Service has been part of the Cook-Illinois Corporation which operates eighteen school bus terminals in the Chicago-land area. School Bus Fleet lists Cook Illinois as the one of the top ten largest school bus operators in the United States. As part of the Cook-Illinois Corporation, Grand Prairie Transit has access to the finest school transportation minds of the industry.
Grand Prairie Transit – Mount Prospect currently provides special education transportation for Township High School District 214 as well as regular education and early childhood transportation for Mount Prospect School District 57, and regular education transportation for Community Consolidated School District 59. The company also provides field trip and charter services for all school district customers.

At Grand Prairie Transit in Mount Prospect IL, we are always hiring for School bus Drivers. We offer Free CDL Training and you can also collect a sign-on bonus if you already have a Class “B” license with school bus and passengers endorsements. Also, we are looking for school bus monitors and school bus mechanics.
