Lakeside Transportation in Waukegan, IL, operates buses throughout Lake County. Lakeside Transportation began operations with a large special education contract in August of 2004. The next school year, Lakeside Transportation doubled in size by taking on another large contract with both special education and regular education busing.

Lakeside Transportation has developed an extensive special education training curriculum for both school bus drivers and bus aides. This training is done in a new facility with an operational lift bus housed inside. This allows for an in-depth training on wheelchair securement and different forms of child safety. This training facility is open to all Cook-Illinois Corporation family companies.

Lakeside provides field trips for the school districts it serves and does outside charters for adult groups, including trips to Wisconsin.
