Grand Prairie Transit – Lockport, formerly known as Crawford Bus Service, Inc., is located immediately south of Romeoville in the Valley View District 365U School District. Grand Prairie Transit – Lockport is a member of the Cook-Illinois family of companies, which has operated school buses continuously for more than fifty-six years. Grand Prairie Transit- Lockport has counted Joliet Grade Schools, Joliet Township High Schools and Lockport Township High School among its clients.

Between 1974 and 1984, Grand Prairie Transit – Lockport organized and provided the first contract transportation for special needs students in the Valley View District 365U communities of Romeoville and Bolingbrook. Between 1991 and 1994, Grand Prairie Transit – Lockport organized and implemented the first all contract busing for Plainfield District 202.

The present management and staff have successfully operated both regular and special education buses for more than twenty years. Each customer has its own supervisor and dispatcher, coordinated by the regional manager to ensure maximum efficiencies in all phases of the operation.
